Rashy Roman

Roman may not appreciate these less then flattering photos being posted but I need to explain why I went to the extremes for a remedy.
Ever since we've been home he's had a varying degree of face and neck rashes. They vary in intensity and redness but are almost always present. It annoys and itches him so he scratches adding an assault to already tender skin.

I lube him up morning and night with Aveeno, castor oil, olive oil, and baby oil but his skin remains dry and irritated.

We went to the doctor and she said it could be anything since his whole world has changed. She recommended baby Benedryl, cortizone cream, and oatmeal baths. We tried all of these treatments with limited success.

Anyone out there have any rash advice for rashes?

After seeing the pix, I'd like to add to my email. This looks EXACTLY like the ones on Corbin when he came home. Now with sample size one, it went away. His was isolated to around his mouth, behind his ears and occasionally on his chest but it looked the same. No advice other than the stuff you are trying and to be patient - it took a few months but it passed and his skin is 100% clear now. Hang in there! It could be flaring up while it's clearing... stay the course!

Allergy? Allergic to creams, wheat, eggs, peanuts, fabric softener, soap, etc.?

My husband has a rash on his torso that we can get rid of with a cream but returns when we stop. It was tested by a dermatologist but it came back inconclusive.

Good luck!

I suggest you try Eucerin (available without a prescription). Try to limit his soaking time in the tub and make sure the warm is just warm. I know that you are washing all of his clothes in hypoallergenic detergent. Alot of changes as the doctor said. Of course all of his foods are new so we can't rule that out! Limit hydrocortisone as it thins the skin (use sparingly-a little thin layer)! Benedryl is the best although it may make him sleepy (not a bad thing as it looks like coffee isn't recharging a tired mom's batteries lol). Hope you are both doing better next week!
